Principal Consultant
Jayme Development Services
Full stack web developer with front-end design talents and a background in fundraising, marketing and communications.
I'm enjoying a second career in full-stack web development after some years in fundraising, marketing and communications for great causes.
I’m most proficient in HTML, CSS, Javascript and React, but continuously learning and comfortable with many technologies including server-side and database architectures such as MySql, MongoDB and Node/Express servers.
I've served in leadership roles at several prominent organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Community Action Marin, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Santa Clara University, and consulted with many others. I've managed numerous major projects from start to finish, launched new websites and brand strategies, implemented various new technologies, started new programs, led teams to meet ambitious fundraising goals, and inspired millions of dollars in donations.
Along the way, I got to learn from some amazing people who practiced transformative methods including Growth Mindset, Lean Management, Kaizen, User-Centered Design and Agile Development. These principles have cultivated my exceptional leadership, project management, communication and interpersonal skills.
I've frequently served as the resident website administrator, database builder, early adopter of new technologies and all-around tech whiz in thinly staffed nonprofits. In 2020, when the pandemic shook up life as we know it, I embraced the moment to deepen my technical skills at UC Berkeley’s Coding Boot Camp.
I’m actively exploring chances to exercise and deepen my coding skills, whether in consulting gigs, pro bono work, or employment opportunities.

A unique React-powered platform that offers gaming enthusiasts an arena to coordinate multi-game tournaments among a circle of friends, with aggregated reporting on performance statistics in a dynamically updated dashboard. Version 1 centers on the popular "Call of Duty" universe.
A React-based interactive table of employee info featuring the cast of hit comedy Parks and Recreation. Sort on any column and filter by birthday month. Built for a Boot Camp assignment which required use of React and stateful components to filter and sort on at least one field.
A bulletin board to promote sharing of surplus food. Restaurants, caterers and farmers often need a timely way to offload good unused food, and local shelters need it. Inspired by ExtraFood.org, this app connects them. Built for a Boot Camp assignment requiring post/save functionality via an Express backend and JSON data.
An interactive trivia game centered on the hit HBO show, built for a Boot Camp assignment which required manipulating the DOM with Javascript and jQuery. This version is a modest cleanup of my original project. It was the very first Javascript assignment, created early in the course.
A handy React-based app to keep track of your reading list, with a Search page powered by Google Books API and a Saved Books page supported by MongoDB. Created for a Boot Camp team project which required use of React lifecycle methods to query and display books based on user searches.
I recently took over maintaining the web site and blog
for my son's school. Originally built by the District, the site had been inconsistently maintained.
I've revamped the front page and am in the process of refreshing the whole site.
